Cyber Security Forum 18th September 2019

The Lebanese DGCA and the Civil Aviation Safety Center (CASC) will be hosting the 5th Global Cyber Security Forum in Beirut on the 18th of September 2019.

The objective of the Forum is to provide aviation service providers with an introduction to cyber security in Civil Aviation, including the cyber threats, risks and motives of threat actors, as well as some considerations to managing cyber risks and implementing cyber security programmes.

Aviation Safety of LEBANON in Safe Custody

With reference to ICAO Letter AN 19/42.39 Confidential – OAS61043 dated 26 May 2016, and after the ICVM Mission that was conducted by ICAO during May 2016, in order to validate the level of implementation and assess the status of DGCA corrective actions taken by Lebanon to resolve the Significant Safety Concern (SSC), and further to the great efforts made by Dr. Omar Kaddouha, Director Flight Safety and his Team, for resolving those deficiencies;

The Lebanese Directorate General of Civil Aviation has the honor to announce that the Significant Safety Concern (SSC) has been removed.

 

Managerial Positions Transfers within the DGCA of Lebanon

A new ministerial decision has been issued by the Minister of Public Works and Transportation Mr. Ghazi Zeaiter under number 1/832, serving to assign Eng. Mohamad Chehabeddine as the new Director General of Civil Aviation.

His Excellency Minister Zeaiter has assigned Eng. Ibrahim Abou Ilewa as Airports Director, Eng. Fadi el Hassan as Airport Manager and Eng. Chadi Abou Antoun as deputy airport manager.

Dr. Omar Kaddouha has been assigned as Head of Flight Safety department, and Dr. Angel Aouad as Head of Research and Study department adding to it her main position as the deputy airport manager.

As for Eng. Carl Rizk, he has been assigned as Head of Air Transport department, and Eng. Ibrahim Karaki as Head of Technical Equipment department.

The rest of departments remained with no particular changes at managerial level, whereas repositioning has been conducted on some technical and administrative divisions.

Minister Zeaiter ensured that his recent decision aims at promoting the quality of administrative and technical work at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport, in addition to the implementation of the Working Agreement signed between the Ministry and the European Aviation Safety Agency dated 04/06/2013, particularly in the part related to the Aviation Safety.
